Leesville Mayor's Women's Commission
Beautification Project

The Leesville Mayor's Women's Commission was established by the Mayor in 1992. The purpose of the commission is to:

1. Provide input at the local level regarding concerns of the community.

2. Act as a liaison between the state and local governments regarding concerns of the community.

3. Promote programs to activate a positive image of Leesville.

4. Aid and assist the Mayor in any project he/she and the Commission believe necessary to showcase the City of Leesville.

Members are appointed by the Mayor and represent a cross-section of the community. They meet once a month on the second Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at city hall. The Mayor's Women's Commission sponsors two city-wide cleanups each year. One is held in the spring one week before Easter and the other is held in the fall one week before Homecoming. Because of their efforts, Leesville has won two Clean City contests.
